Your first impression as you pass through the entrance to the Centre is not necessarily visual but rather the powerful sounds emanating from deep inside the dojo (training hall in Japanese). These cries of energy are used by the students at any given time during the intensive training sessions that take place daily under the flag of the Land of the Rising Sun where the Japanese martial arts were born and the flag of the USA where the International headquarters of Seido Karate reside in Manhattan.

The Martial Arts Centre is first and foremost an educational institution. Even before they have acquired physical skills, students are infused with a moral code, discipline and education that embody the warrior code, ancient Eastern wisdom and traditional Jewish and Zionist values. Through these means the students improve themselves as people and citizens something which is maybe somewhat lacking in modern society.

 

A major accomplishment of the Martial Arts Centre is it’s ability to provide training and a framework for everybody irregardless of size, age, sex or ability. Everyone can integrate easily into the training and social experience that the Centre offers. The warm family atmosphere that stems from the individual attention given to each pupil personifies us. The focus is on family values of mutual respect, love and discipline.
